Learn how to create a collection in Studio with article pages, external links, or even for files like PDFs.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Click on Create new… and select Collection.

Fill up the Collection name and the Collection URL will be auto populated. Collection URL can be edited by clicking on it. These fields can be edited later on even when the Collection is saved/created.

You can differentiate between a normal folder and a collection folder using this green banner here.

In collection settings, you will be able to edit the collection’s name and URL.

Click on Add new item to start on your collection of articles.

There will be two items available for creating

  1. Page

  2. Link or file

Creating a page

For page, it will be the same as how article pages are created.

Linking an link or file

To add links or file, click on link or file.

  1. The item title character limit is 150 characters.

  2. The right preview is showing how this item is displayed in a collection.

Name the Article category

  • This is Case-sensitive and spacing-sensitive

  • Use the exact correct casing (e.g. Environment is not the same as environment)

  • Double-check for any extra spaces (especially at the ends) or incorrect characters

Insert the Article date (Optional)

  • Used for year filtering on the sidebar

  • Articles will be automatically sorted chronologically if a date is provided. Else, without date, it will be organised alphabetically.

This is how the article category and date will appear on the collection page.

You can add a link to a

  • page

  • external link

  • file

For files,

  • Current accepted file types are pdf, .xls, .xlsx, .csv, .tsv

  • Max size allowed is 20 MB.

Once attached, click on Add link.

Add a summary text to your PDF.

  1. This will help users to search your collection item more easily.

  2. The search bar in collection page only searches keywords in the title and the summary text here.

Click on Save and the success message should appear.

You can differentiate between page and a link item via the icon at the side here.
