Now that you’ve learned how to edit a page, let’s integrate that knowledge into your usual workflow. Many agencies we’ve spoken with actually use Word documents for content approvals before transferring the content into Studio.
In this tutorial, we’ll replicate that process, helping you practice copying over formatted content while maintaining its structure.
How to copy
Ensure the document is properly formatted, with correct heading levels, subheadings, and paragraph styles.
Select the text from your Word document, including any headings, subheadings, and formatting.
Open your Studio editor and paste the content directly into your page.
The formatting, including heading levels, bold text, italics, tables and bullet points, should remain intact. After pasting, check that all styles and formatting match what was in the Word document.
You might face inconsistencies for example, table captions are mandatory in Isomer, which will need site editors to fill it up when copying tables over.
Tips and best practices
Use matching heading styles
Ensure your Word document uses proper heading styles to preserve hierarchy when copied over.
Here are the corresponding headers in Studio vs Word docs.
Section heading - H2 headers
Large heading - H3 headers
Medium - H4 headers
You may notice excessive spacing between paragraphs when copying content.
This occurs because Studio is sensitive to different types of breaks
Use 'Enter' for paragraph breaks (creates more spacing)
Use 'Shift + Enter' for line breaks (creates minimal spacing)
Avoid excessive formatting. Too many different styles can cause formatting issues.
Images cannot be copied over. Copy by sections e.g. text section, image section
