🔗 File type and size now shown automatically in links embedded in text blocks
What's new
When you insert a file link using the link editor available in a text block, the link text is now automatically updated to show the file type and size — for example, Annual Report [PDF, 1.00 MB].
Previously, editors had to manually type the file type and size into the link text. Now, this is done automatically when you insert a file through the link editor.
✏️ Note: This only applies to file links added from May 2026 onwards. Existing links will not be retroactively updated — if they are missing file type and size information, you can either update them manually or re-upload the file through the link editor for it to be filled in automatically.
How it works
After adding the file, you will see the file link reflected in the text editor with the file type and size indicated automatically.
Why does this matter?
This helps your visitors make informed decisions before downloading a file. It also follows accessibility best practices, which recommend that download links indicate the file type and size.
This now happens automatically. No extra steps are needed on your end.
🎇 Support for a wider range of image types
What's new?
Isomer Studio now accepts AVIF images (.avif) as a direct upload format. This brings the total number of supported image types to 9: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .svg, .tiff, .bmp, .webp, and .avif.
Why does this matter?
AVIF is a modern image format that delivers smaller file sizes without sacrificing visual quality. Smaller images mean your Isomer pages load faster and faster pages improve the experience for your site visitors and can also boost your site's SEO ranking.
What if my image is not in AVIF format?
If your image is already in a common format like .jpg or .png, you can upload it directly. Isomer Studio will automatically optimise it by converting it to AVIF or WebP in the background — you don't need to do anything extra.
A few things to note:
The maximum file size per upload remains 5 MB.
If your image exceeds 5 MB, consider converting it to AVIF before uploading using a free online converter. For best results, start from a high-quality source image such as a PNG.
